Our idea is to develop a system designed to grow and support a network of teacher leaders. These leaders/coaches will support and expand the leadership role of teachers through a joint labor management collaboration. The goal is to develop and retain high quality and effective teacher leaders.

Allegan Area ESA is leading our county districts toward a student-centered literacy model for reading and writing instruction. Our school is fortunate enough to have given one of my colleagues and me the opportunity to work as instructional coaches for one class period. We have seen the coaching approach to instructional improvement benefit all of our coachees in that it gives them ownership over the topics we discuss.
