Supporting and creating opportunities for teacher-driven learning are critical to both the profession and student learning. What if there was a way to provide all educators with the tools they'd need to run an Edcamp in their district? Teachers in rural community schools often do not have adequate funding for professional development to support student learning. National Board Certification empowers teachers by helping them to grow as leaders within their school, district, and state and also helps them to maintain focus on the heart of their classroom--enhanced student learning. It is a most rigorous, personal professional development process.
While core subject teachers in my district participate in PLCs each day, the Career & Technical Education teachers do not have any sort of PLC since each teaches something different.
