Supporting Teacher Leadership, Engaging Math Change with Engineering

Principals should support teacher leaders in building partnerships beyond the school. As advisor to my school’s junior chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers, I sought to provide students on our math team with more opportunities to compete. School Teachers Collaborating with Afterschool and Summer Program Professionals

Especially in urban and lower-income communities, the majority of children go from school to an afterschool program each day during the school year. Many of these children go to summer programs when school is out for the summer.
