Building community among teachers using peer observation triads

My school has a small recess yard and cafeteria which causes many staggered recesses and lunches by grade level. The classrooms are also situated in the wings of the school roughly by grade level. All of this leads to teachers connecting only with other teachers at their grade level for most of the day. This builds little sense of community amongst the teachers in the school. Lab Classroom? Why not yours and mine?

One way to improve your teaching is through observing others teach. Not often do teachers get the opportunity to be in each others classrooms to watch a lesson with a critical eye on the lesson and the students’ reaction to that lesson. Peer Observations

In an effort to strengthen our Leadership Team, (and in turn, all teachers), our Principal has authorized that the 3 Lead Teachers on Lead Team become "Peer Observers." We will be trained in the same format she was trained, though our Observations will not be tied to Teacher Effectiveness.
