Not often do teachers get the opportunity to be in each others classrooms to watch a lesson with a critical eye on the lesson and the students’ reaction to that lesson. My school has a small recess yard and cafeteria which causes many staggered recesses and lunches by grade level. The classrooms are also situated in the wings of the school roughly by grade level. Writing Workshops

Holding writing workshops at the secondary level can be beneficial for students. This model is typically used at the elementary level, but systematic and structured mini lessons can potentially benefit secondary students as well. I have found that it not only inspires students and allows them to focus on foundational concepts of writing that are often overlooked during regular class time.
